Welcome! I’m Helen the owner of Comfy Paws Pet Care.
Loving and caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life and I believe that the key to happy pets stems from exercise, training and lots of love. Through Comfy Paws I can provide a service that will meet your pets needs when you yourself aren’t available to.
So here’s a little about me… When i’m not working with all your lovely animals i’m with my own. I have a horse, a dog and 3 cats. Oh yes and a fiancé, he’s classed as an animal though right (haha)? I work my little socks off but when I do have the odd occasion free I like to put my feet up, open at a bottle of cava and let the good times role (who doesn’t enjoy a cheeky glass of wine?). Another fun fact about me is that I have a degree in photography. It’s more of a hobby these days, but if you’re interested you can see my stuff here. I also offer pet portraits, so just ask if you’re interested!
The most important thing to me is your pets happiness which is why my service is dedicated to the one to one care of your pet in your own home. I am able to offer an alternative to kennels, catteries and doggy day cares; environments that can be stressful for many dogs and cats. These can be scary places for pets because of the unfamiliar sounds and smells, but by having me care for your pet in the comfort of your home, I am able to keep their routine, allowing them to be surrounded by everything familiar to them, lowering both yours and their stress levels, giving everyone peace of mind.
My service is personal and one to one meaning I tailor make my time with your pet depending on their specific needs. Your dog can have a one to one walk with me or if he enjoys the company of others he can join a small group (no more than 5) to cover all his socialising needs.
I have a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management and training in basic first aid. My personal interest in animal behaviour allows me to be extremely confident in my ability to communicate effectively with a variety of animal species, allowing me to quickly gain trust, particularly with shy or nervous pets. I am also happy in most cases to work with “difficult” pets and enjoy taking time to bond with these animals to help them with their rehabilitation process.
My service is very discreet and I do not advertise my presence at your home. In line to your pets welfare is my care for your home. Your home will always be treated with care and respect and I always leave it exactly as I found it. If you are away on holiday I am happy to water your plants, collect your post and put your bins out. I understand that having a stranger come to your house can seem very strange and unnerving, however with regular communication and updates on your pets progress you will find we will soon build our own relationship and hopefully you will class me not just a pet sitter but a friend. My customers are happy to speak with you should you have any concerns and I’m happy to pass on any contact details (with their permission) should you require references.
I couldn’t do any of this though without the help of my staff, Catherine and Zelina!
